| Born in Edmonton in 1946, Vance Rodewalt drew advertising cartoons for The Roughneck after completing high school. Working for Marvel Comics for five years, he travelled to Europe and, upon his return, began doing political cartoons for the Calgary Albertan. When the Albertan was bought by Calgary Sun, he remained on staff for three-and-a-half years before moving on to the Calgary Herald where he shared editorial page cartooning duties with Tom Innes. He has assumed full duties since 1987 and won the 1988 National Newspaper Award for Cartooning. Vance also drew the internationally syndicated Chubb & Chauncey comic strip. He and his wife, a former champion figure skater, live in Calgary and have two sons. |
