| Raised on a farm near Arthur, Ontario, Patrick Callaghan earned a degree in Graphic Design from Georgian College in Owen Sound. He was first published in the weekly Owen Sound Tribune in 1996 and appeared on its editorial page for five years. After the demise of the Tribune, Callaghan contributed to the online newsmagazine, community-focus.com until he realized his goal of contributing to a daily newspaper with his debut in the Owen Sound Sun Times in 2001 and has been with that publication ever since. Callaghan's work has been exhibited at the Tom Thomson Memorial Art Gallery and the Durham Gallery of Art. Never interested in pure caricature, Callaghan prefers to illuminate on how the decisions of local movers and shakers affect the anonymous men and women on the streets of Owen Sound and Grey & Bruce counties. Callaghan’s day job is as a designer/fabricator for the award winning sign company Concept Signs & Marketing. |
