For over 30 years, Aislin has been Terry Mosher's nom-de-plume as the
editorial page cartoonist for the Montreal Gazette. Aislin is the
name of Terry Mosher's elder daughter.
Born in Ottawa in 1942, he attended fourteen different schools in
Montreal, Toronto and Quebec City, graduating from the Ecole des
Beaux-arts in 1967. He then began working for The Montreal Star,
moving to the Gazette in 1972.
The recipient of two National Newspaper Awards and a member of
Canada’s News Hall of Fame, Mosher has free-lanced in the U.S. and
abroad for such publications as The New York Times, Time Magazine,
The National Lampoon, Harper’s Magazine, The Atlantic Monthly and
Punch. Over 40 books have been either written or illustrated by him.
In 2002 he was made an Officer of the Order of Canada, and in 2007
received an honorary doctorate from McGill University.
